Fight the Freeze – Build a Shul

President Obama wants to permanently freeze all Jewish life in Judea, Samaria and parts of Jerusalem. Obama “wants to see a stop to settlements - not some settlements, not outposts, not 'natural growth' exceptions”.

Ultimately this means no Jews in the historical Jewish heartland.

Tremendous pressure is being placed on the State of Israel and on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

What can you do to help, to protest, and to protect and build Jewish communities in your Jewish heartland?

 Digging the Foundations

In the neighborhood of Zayit, in the town of Efrat of Gush Etzion we have decided to build and grow. This is our response. This is the Jewish response.

Despite the Freeze, Jewish life in our town is growing, slower than it should, but growing none the less.

Right before the freeze, 50 new families moved into the Zayit, joining 50 more that moved in over the past 3 years.

We have assembled together to form a new Kehila, and are building a new shul to service the 100-150 families who currently need a place to daven.

After much effort we recently won a tender for a plot of land in the center of our new buildings, and the Efrat municipality is graciously allowing us temporary use of a Bnei Akiva caravan for our services until we build a permanent structure.

To move forward, our community needs to raise money. We have already started to level the land and have selected an architect.

Breaking Ground

We are planning on using the small window of opportunity that will open up when the Freeze temporarily ends to lay a foundation, and so we are preparing the ground now - before it is too late.

That's loud!

We have no choice. We are a living, vibrant community and we choose to live and grow. We won’t freeze, and we won’t dry up and shrivel away. And we won’t abandon Eretz Yisrael. And we need a shul.

If you’re upset and frustrated with the political pressure being placed on the State of Israel, then this is your opportunity to take action for Eretz Yisrael, to protest, to fight the Freeze, and to help build a Jewish community and shul in Yesha (Judea and Samaria).
